CERAMICS
Sam's work is currently unavailable as she has recently relocated to New Zealand. We will have more news on availability in 2008
Sam Dickenson's range of ceramics are seductively beautiful
and tactile, both aesthetic and functional.
She takes her inspiration from the world around her - a china
tea cup in a charity shop, a puddle on the ground, a piece
of fruit sliced open, a fragment of wallpaper - all of these
simple things ignite Sam's creativity.
Sam has a hands-on approach to her work and always carries
a sketchbook with her to record any ideas as they emerge.
These initial sketches are then realised in the studio, carved
initially in plaster and then cast in earthenware clay.
Sam studied Ceramic Design at Central St. Martin's College
of Art and Design.
She won numerous awards, including the Prince's Trust start-up
award and best new product at the design fair Pulse at Earls
Court. In 2003 she was short-listed for Elle Deco accessory
of the year award.
