CERAMICS
Liz Emtage makes a range of bespoke porcelain lighting that
gently disperses light, highlighting the form and surface
decoration.
Liz uses paper clay and porcelain clay. In the firing process
the paper burns out leaving a delicate, translucent structure;
which suffuses any room with a warm glow.
Often the paper clay is inlaid with organic materials, like
rice, lentils, lavender and leaves. Like the paper, these
burn out in the kiln, leaving a relief texture that allows
even more light through, accentuating the pattern.
Liz's collection includes ceiling lights as well as
free-standing lights which vary in size and work well in isolation
or as part of a group.
All lamps are wired with British and European plug fittings
and have been safety tested to CE standards.
Liz studied 3D Design Ceramics at Bath College of Higher
Education and recently exhibited her work at Ceramics in the
City, a collection of work by some of the leading ceramicists
in the country held at the Geffrye Museum in London.
