PAINTINGS
- Katherine Palmers-Needham
Katherine's paintings are about the process of creating a
painting; her engagement with her materials, the beauty of
colour and a study into the passage of time.
Katherine uses oils on gesso, a surface that retains and
records every mark made due to its smooth as ice but also
extremely absorbent nature.
Chance occurrences that happen, the traces of lines and marks,
the freedom of brushstrokes and the random blurring of paint
- all these elements work alongside the considered placement
of colour and contribute to the creation of Katherine's paintings.
Katherine's aim is to achieve a play of balance, depth and
surface texture to create rich and inviting paintings.
Katherine obtained a first class honours at Chelsea College
of Art and has shown nationally in solo and group shows.
Prices for Katherine's work range from £250.00 to £3,000.00
