  • anne adamson

The images in Anne's work draw on observation and imagination, creating new worlds where anything might happen. She likes to convey an atmosphere of displacement and ambiguity, presenting narrative possibilities and leaving the work open to interpretation: a solitary dog strides purposefully towards an unknown destination; a single tower block sits alone in a desert; a broken fence guards an ocean. Recent paintings feature groups of people crossing a landscape, giving rise to questions of identity and place. These drawings are beautiful and yet disquieting.

Anne completed an MA in Fine Art (Drawing) at Wimbledon School of Art, London. She exhibits her work regularly around the UK and has won a number of awards for her work including first prize at the Barclaycard Drawing awards.
